Slough Children First is an independent, not-for-profit wholly owned company of Slough Borough Council, which provides social care and support services to children, young people and families.

Assessment & Intervention & Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
Our Assessment & Intervention, and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) where initial concerns about a child’s wellbeing and/or safety are first raised and where contact with the service begins and decisions that are made are based on where best to refer a child
Early Help
Our Early Help Services offers support to children, young people and their families when they need targeted supported and before problems escalate
Safeguarding & Family Support
Our Safeguarding & Family Support business area is where most of the statutory engagement with families takes place and where we find children who have a clear, ongoing risk of significant harm
Breakaway
Breakaway is a six-bedroom short break home, providing respite care for children aged 6-18 who have complex needs, a learning and/or physical disability
Children in our Care
Children in our Care is the ‘core’ area of statutory children’s services, where we work with children and young people who are in permanent care. Care Leavers and Children with Disabilities Teams also fall within this service
Virtual School
Virtual School work collaboratively with Social Care and Education Services, the key role is to support the educational outcomes of all children looked after by Slough wherever they attend their ‘real’ school
Independent Fostering Agency (IFA)
Our Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) provides a range of safe and secure foster placements to meet the assessed needs of children and young people in care, and to promote and safeguard their welfare
They work in partnership with children and young people, carers, birth families, our key stakeholders (including Slough Borough Council) and the community
